So many classmates tell me that among the many reasons they came to business school was to explore entrepreneurship and new, disruptive ideas, but that they never get an opportunity to do this as school work, section activities, recruiting, and weekends to Aruba get in the way of brainstorming ideas they can get passionate about.
While I definitely encourage all of the above (tempted to post a picture from my recent Bermuda weekend instead of this stodgy logo I slapped together), I do believe that b-school is a great opportunity to pursue interesting ventures in spaces we’re passionate about, but sometimes we just need something to get our idea juices flowing and kick us into gear …
… which is why we’ve put together the first-ever Harvard Ideabomb, a massive whiteboarding brainstorm session on disruptive business ideas! We’ve received almost 200 applications from students across HBS, HMS, HLS, HKS, the Education School, the Design School, Harvard College, and a few others, and have organized 100+ students into industry-focused ideation teams of roughly 10 each.
On November 30, these teams will congregate at the i-Lab for Ideabomb, where they’ll brainstorm ideas to disrupt industries they’re passionate about, including retail, cleantech, pharma, education, CPG, and low-tech goods, among others. Be on the lookout for several Hinnovates articles in the aftermath of Ideabomb, written by participants reflecting on key insights from their brainstorm sessions.
We’re excited to see all the #innovation they’ll be cooking up!
(P.S. Huge apologies to all those who applied but are wait-listed for Ideabomb #1! We’ll let you know if the wait-list opens! If not, please stay tuned for a bigger, grander Ideabomb #2 in the Spring! And for those who couldn’t get involved this time around, keep an eye out too!)
